Six and a half years ago, my husband (then boyfriend) and I moved to Nashville on New Years Eve. We didn’t have jobs, friends, or much family near by – but we wanted an adventure.
Six months later, we bought our first house together in Nashville (Bellevue area). We moved in, as an engaged couple with two new rescue puppies.
A year after moving to Nashville; January 2013, we got married in an amazing venue located in downtown Nashville – with nearly 200 of our closest family and friends (old and new). See more about our wedding here – Cause in January, We’re Getting Married.
Fast forward to January 2018, Nick and I have two sons – Benson and Boden – we have moved from Nashville to Franklin (20 minutes south of Nashville). I’ve went from being a 1st grade teacher to a part-time, stay-at-home mom. Nick has been working for the same company since just after we moved here.
Many family members have followed us down for some southern living, and we enjoy hosting family and friends on the regular!
If you would have told me a decade ago, that at the age of 30, I would be living and raising my family in a small town outside of Nashville – I would have thought you were crazy. I never thought I would/could leave my family, in Wisconsin, to move states away and start a whole new life. These days, I can’t imagine life any other way…but in 10 years, you never know where life will take you! Live it up!
What looks good on you?
